Sidwell on General Hospital — Everything You Need To Know

There are still many unanswered questions about the character of Jenz Sidwell on General Hospital, so let’s break down what we know so far. Sidwell first appeared in the August 30, 2024, episode, portrayed by actor Carlo Rota, who fans might recognize from roles in La Femme Nikita, 24, and Jane the Virgin. Is Sidwell connected to the Cassadine family? The character remains mysterious, but here’s what we do know:

Jenz Sidwell was introduced while holding Lucky Spencer and Dr. Isaiah Gannon captive in his compound in South Africa. After Lucky helped Isaiah escape, Sidwell played poker with his remaining prisoner, warning him that his life was on the line and that he had to keep winning. He also introduced a new woman in his life, whom Lucky immediately recognized as Holly Sutton, though they kept their connection secret.

At a casino, Sidwell and Holly encountered Anna Devane and Jason Morgan while playing cards and invited them back to his camp for more games. Anna claimed she wanted to assist with moving his diamonds, but Sidwell was cautious and suggested that his guests, now prisoners, play cards for their lives. Just as things escalated, Jack Brennan from the WSB called in an air strike on the compound, allowing everyone to escape. However, when Sidwell discovered that Holly had stolen his diamonds, he swore to track them down and reclaim them!

In November, Sidwell made his way to Port Charles and kidnapped Sasha Gilmore from the Quartermaine estate, using her as leverage to force her mother, Holly, into handing over the stolen gems. He then revealed to Jason that he had planted a bomb at the warehouse and demanded the diamonds in exchange for Sasha’s location, hoping to get her freed before the building went up in flames.

As 2025 began, Lucy Coe helped Sidwell get settled at Wyndemere and offered to introduce him to Port Charles society. While she filled him in on local gossip, Sidwell remained tight-lipped about his own background. He met Ava Jerome at the gallery, where he was looking for art for his new home, and invited her to assist him in finding the perfect spot for it. Meanwhile, Mayor Laura Collins sat down with Sidwell to discuss his business dealings in Port Charles, with Sidwell defending his past actions in South Africa, pointing out that he’d never been charged with kidnapping Sasha.

Sidwell soon found himself charmed by Jordan Ashford and had a meeting with Drew Quartermaine about the new esplanade project on Pier 55, which involved using eminent domain to seize Sonny Corinthos’ property. Lucy introduced him to the Deception team as a potential investor, and it was revealed to viewers that Natalia Morales was his ex-wife. When Sasha attempted to sabotage his deal with Deception, Sidwell offered her $250,000 if she would clear the air and claim her kidnapping was a misunderstanding. Just as things heated up, Jason interrupted, holding Sidwell at gunpoint, and demanded to know if he had been behind the explosion of Sonny’s apartment. Sidwell denied any involvement.

Later, Sasha agreed to Sidwell’s offer, and Natalia accused him of attempting a hostile takeover of Deception. Sidwell, however, maintained that he was being honest and above board. Alexis Davis arrived at Wyndemere at his request, and Sidwell showed her a dagger he had found. She recognized it as Helena Cassadine’s, the weapon Helena had used to kill her own mother. Disturbed, Alexis dropped the dagger on the floor and left abruptly. Sidwell, ever careful, picked it up using a cloth to avoid leaving any fingerprints.
