ITV Coronation Street star gives update after nasty fall downstairs while ‘holding baby’

Coronation Street star Jack P. Shepherd revealed that he had slipped and fallen down the stairs during his break from the ITV soap.

A well-known Coronation Street star informed fans that he had fallen down the stairs while holding onto his “baby.” Jack P. Shepherd, famed for his role as the cheeky David Platt on the ITV soap, took to Instagram to let fans know he was “fine” after the incident.

The 37-year-old soap star appeared quite different from his on-screen character, sharing a post on his Instagram Stories while wearing a stylish LED face mask—showing just how seriously he takes his skincare routine.

The ITV star gave more details about the incident by sharing a video where he spoke directly into the camera. Still holding the mugs and his “baby,” his pet dog, he reassured fans: “We’re all good. I didn’t drop anything.”

“I had the baby in my right hand, three cups in my left, and then the slipper slipped off, and I went all the way down on my back,” Jack explained.

He continued, “I kept everything in hand, didn’t spill anything or drop the baby. It was like watching a drunk guy fall on his back carrying a bunch of pints and somehow managing to keep them all upright. That was me! But we’re all fine.”

Recently, Jack also shared that, amid several cast departures, he doesn’t usually stay in touch with his co-stars after they leave the cobbles. He made this admission while chatting with Craig Tinker actor Colson Smith and Nick Tilsley star Ben Price on their podcast, On The Sofa.

Colson is leaving ITV after 14 years, but Jack reassured him and the listeners by saying, “Since we’re still doing the podcast, I’ll still have a relationship with him.”

He also admitted that he hadn’t kept in touch with former Corrie star Helen Worth, who played his on-screen mother, Gail Platt.

Jack explained his tendency not to reach out to past stars, saying, “No, I usually don’t; I don’t. If they call me, I’ll pick up.”

He added, “That’s just how I am with everyone. I don’t really call anyone. Who do you call?”
