Jack, who portrays David Platt, made a surprising admission ahead of his wedding to his scriptwriter fiancée, Hanni Treweek, revealing that the preparations for their big day have been challenging.

Coronation Street actor Jack P. Shepherd admitted, “I can’t do it,” after a disagreement with his fiancée, Hanni Treweek, regarding their wedding arrangements.
Jack P. Shepherd, known for portraying David Platt, got engaged to his scriptwriter fiancée last year after seven years together. However, while planning their wedding, he admitted they’ve encountered their first disagreement.
While chatting on the On The Sofa podcast with his Coronation Street co-stars Colson Smith and Ben Price, he revealed that the expenses for children’s wedding attire started to rise.
“We’ve officially had our first wedding-related argument,” he admitted. “Up until now, we’ve agreed on everything.”
Jack elaborated, explaining that he initially planned for his nieces and nephews to wear coordinated outfits for a wedding procession. He continued, “I had no idea that as the bride and groom, we’re responsible for covering the cost of all their suits and outfits.”

Colson, who portrays Craig Tinker in the soap, replied, “You’re responsible for covering all the costs, mate! That includes mine and Ben’s suits!”
Jack then explained that while he could rent suits for the groomsmen, he was concerned that the children might end up damaging their outfits during the celebrations, according to Plymouth Live.
“You can’t really rent suits for kids,” he explained. “What do children do at weddings? They mess up their outfits. They pull off a Peter Kay-style knee slide, so you have to buy them. My brother has four kids, my sister has four, and then there’s my two—so that’s 10 children in total.”
Colson estimated that dressing all the kids would cost “at least a grand,” but Jack believed the final price would be “far higher” once shoes and accessories were included.
“I was like, ‘I’m not doing it, I can’t do it, I don’t like them that much,'” Jack joked. However, Hanni insisted that they had to cover the cost of the suits and dresses, prompting Jack to stand his ground.
He sent a clear message in the family WhatsApp group, stating, “I ain’t doing it,” and emphasized that the parents should be responsible for paying for their children’s outfits.

To Jack’s relief, his siblings agreed to cover the cost of their children’s outfits. Wrapping up the situation, he said, “We had a bit of an argument, but we’ve worked it out. It was the first disagreement. She was insisting we had to, but I said there are too many of them.”
Jack told Colson and Ben that while he stood firm on the children’s outfits, he did agree to splurge on the bridesmaids’ dresses, along with pyjamas and slippers – joking that even Elon Musk would be shocked by the price.
“If Elon Musk saw this bill, he’d be like, ‘I can’t pay that,'” he joked. “He’d look at it and say, ‘seriously?'”
