Fans of Coronation Street believe they already know who Carla Connor will be spending time with on the cobbles as she prepares for a new romance.
Fans of Coronation Street think they’ve figured out who Carla Connor will date next, and it’s not DS Lisa Swain.
It will be recalled by viewers that earlier this year, Carla (played by Alison King), who debuted in the soap opera in 2006, was horrified to learn that her marriage to Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) had ended when he fled the cobbles.
She appears to have bonded with DS Lisa Swain (Lisa Meyers) since then. Carla has showed sympathy for the frazzled detective and single mother Lisa is trying to bring down, Joel Deering (Calum Lill).
Even Betsy (Sydney Martin), the daughter of Swain, was given work experience at the Underworld facility by Carla. The father of a mischievous child Carla had collided with at the workplace had confronted her last week, and Lisa had stepped in to help.
Later on, after Carla had brushed a strand of hair out of Lisa’s face, the two had a tense exchange, during which Lisa immediately found an excuse to depart. Fans, though, are now certain that Carla and Lisa won’t actually end up together. Watchers with keen eyes believe Carla will be drawn to a former famous landlady when she returns, according to the Liverpool Echo.
Fans have been theorizing online that Carla’s friend Michelle Connor (Kym Marsh) would return and the two of them fall in love, which would be a significant narrative twist.
“I’m still waiting for Michelle to come back and then her and Carla can get together,” a fan wrote on a Corrie Facebook page. One more person said, “Yes, please!”
Following actress Kym Marsh’s hint that Michelle Connor might be returning to Corrie, fans are giddy about the possibility. A jubilant supporter said, “I could see this happening, to be honest. Come on, let’s get it done.” Another person expressed similar excitement, saying, “Oh my god, I hope so, Michelle was one of my favorites.”
Michelle has been greatly missed since leaving the Street in 2019. Kym joined the cast in 2006 and won a plethora of awards while swiftly winning the hearts of viewers.
Michelle’s door remained open as Kym, who had previously expressed optimism to Liverpool eco, told supporters, “Never say never.” If it was convenient for us both at the time, I’d like to think I would go back.”
In addition, Kym revealed to The Mirror in August that “it was left open, very much so, and if the chance and opportunity was to arrive then I could always return if that was what was wanted.” That being said, unless they murder her, she can always choose to return! “Coronation Street is such a big part of my life, I will always love it,” but there is that potential, and I mean, I just love that show.
