Fans of GH, particularly those who were really disappointed to see Monaco leave the serial opera after 21 years of service, may be in for a surprise.
Is it possible that Sam’s life is put in purgatory, much like Lulu Falconeri’s (Alexa Havins) has been for the past three years, rather than dying?
There are several possibilities circulating around the rumor mill, and this one is becoming more popular. Perhaps the procedure becomes complex and leaves Sam on the table without oxygen or with severe injuries, but that could just be wishful thinking.
Is it possible that Lulu will awaken as Sam falls asleep for an extended amount of time? If so, is that truly preferable than eliminating her?

It will be the best holiday season Port Charles has seen in a long time if the transplant miraculously helps Lulu emerge from the coma that has been claiming her life for the past three years.
At the same moment, Scout Quartermaine (Cosette Abinante) and Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn) will be lamenting their own loss while Rocco Falconeri (Finn Francis Carr) is rejoicing his reunion with his mother.
However, some supporters are desperate to find a means to keep Sam alive rather than simply allowing her pass away honorably after donating her liver to rescue Lulu.
Putting Sam in a coma following the procedure is undoubtedly the best method to leave the door open for her to return at some point.
General Hospital Spoilers — But She Also Wouldn’t Be Present
On the other hand, some enthusiasts detest this concept. Even after Monaco has finished filming her last scenes, many of them are still complaining that she is leaving at all.
Putting Sam in a coma would force us to return to a too similar plot. However, instead of Laura Collins (Genie Franics) visiting her daughter in a long-term care facility, it would be Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) this time.
The loss of his current love would tie Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) up in knots once more, and he would feel a great deal of sorrow because she sacrificed her quality of life to support Lulu’s.
