Fans of Coronation Street are certain that Sam Blakeman will take a negative turn.
It appears that Coronation Street is teasing a dark new storyline for Sam Blakeman.
Jude Riordan played the young role, who debuted on the cobbles in 2020 as the long-lost son of Nick Tilsley (Ben Price). Sam’s mother, Natasha Blakeman (Rachel Leskovac), and Nick had split up before she realized she was expecting, thus he didn’t meet his father until he was nine years old.
Sam has undoubtedly had a lot of turmoil during his time in Weatherfield. In 2021, Sam lost his mother Natasha to gunshot death at the hands of drug lord Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor), a tragic event that viewers will never forget.
Jude received praise from fans for his outstanding performance in capturing Sam’s grief as he said a tearful goodbye to Natasha. Furthermore, after his father’s split from Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson), recent events in the ITV soap opera have saddened him once more.
According to the Liverpool Echo, Nick deceived Leanne earlier this year by having an affair with her sister Toyah (Georgia Taylor). When Leanne joined The Institute, a cult led by the menacing Rowan Cunliffe (Emrhys Cooper), they started an illegal romance.
The truth finally came to light, but in “real” soap opera fashion, Rowan ended up extorting Nick and Leanne over their affair. Following Nick’s shocking admission of infidelity, Leanne and Sam were in shock. Nick made a U-turn this week and slid back into the pad, leaving Leanne and Toyah to search for a new gaff after first running away from the nest he shared with Leanne, Toyah, and Sam.
However, drama developed in Wednesday’s tearjerker (October 23) when a displeased Sam learned that his elderly man had spent the day assisting Toyah with moving her belongings to her new residence. After Gail’s (Helen Worth) devastating heart attack and subsequent hospitalization, Toyah stopped by Nick and Sam’s to check on them. Sam, however, was not having any of it and gave Toyah a clap in return, making it obvious that he didn’t want her pity.
Fans of Corrie are already forecasting a very sinister turn of events for young Sam. On a Corrie Facebook fan page, viewers are giddy with anticipation, betting that Sam would propose to Toyah in a suspenseful plot twist.
A fan said: “I always thought Nick and Leanne would grow old together. But is there still a chance they could get back together and if so what about Toyah.” Eager social media users quickly hit up the comments section. One speculated: “He isn’t going to let Toyah be with his dad.”
Another added their tuppence worth: “He will probably do whatever he can, I could see him trying to attack her.” Yet another soap sleuth suggested: “I can see that happening, can’t imagine he will let things get back to normal. He loved Leanne.” And another hinted: “There is definitely something coming up with Sam by the way he acted. Toyah needs to watch out.”
