Coronation Street and Love Island stars confirmed for very special Masked Singer event

Several celebrities are uniting to help raise funds for The Mel Evans MBE Foundation and support Motor Neurone Disease research.

The worlds of soap operas and reality TV are about to merge in a unique event later this year.

Stars from Coronation Street, along with potential participants from Love Island, will come together to support Motor Neurone Disease awareness and fundraising efforts.

On Saturday, April 12th, The Mel Evans MBE Foundation will present The Masked Entertainer Gala Dinner at Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham.

The event promises an evening filled with fun, entertainment, and mystery, offering a playful nod to ITV’s The Masked Singer, and features an exciting lineup of celebrity participants.

So far, Coronation Street stars Peter Ash and Daniel Brocklebank have been confirmed to join the judging panel.

Former England cricketer and I’m A Celebrity winner Phil Tufnell will also be present at the event, but the question remains: who could be hiding behind the masks?

Love Island icon Marcel Somerville has teased fans with a video hinting that he might be one of the surprise performers, while Andy Whyment, known for playing the beloved Kirk Sutherland in Coronation Street, has also suggested he might be taking part in the masked fun.

A spokesperson for The Mel Evans MBE Foundation commented on the event: “We have a proven history of organizing unforgettable events, and this one will be no different.

“As a small but passionate charity, we are entirely volunteer-run, with everyone involved having lost loved ones to Motor Neurone Disease (MND).”

“Our goal is straightforward yet crucial: to raise vital funds for research, with the hope that one day, we will discover effective treatments and a cure for this currently 100% fatal disease.”

Tickets for the event are available for purchase at melevansfoundation.org.uk.
