In Coronation Street, Kevin has just been diagnosed with testicular cancer – but could this lead to a return for his daughters, Rosie and Sophie Webster?

On Wednesday, February 12, Sally went with Kevin to the hospital for his test results. Afterward, she told Kevin she would reach out to Rosie and Sophie… but could the sisters be making a return to the soap?

Coronation Street: Kevin’s cancer diagnosis

Yesterday on the cobbles, Kevin told Sally he was heading to the hospital for his test results. He didn’t want to bother Abi and planned to go alone.

However, Sally insisted on accompanying him, staying by his side when Kevin was informed that he has testicular cancer and will need surgery.

Kevin then said he would need to tell Rosie and Sophie, as the cancer gene might be passed on to their future children. Sally suggested they didn’t need to know just yet, explaining she had been asking them for years about having kids and didn’t expect it to happen anytime soon.

She then told Kevin that she would inform their daughters on his behalf, with Kevin also mentioning that his brother Carl should be told too.

Could Rosie and Sophie Webster return to Coronation Street?

It’s been reported that Carl Webster will be joining Coronation Street amid Kevin’s battle with cancer. But could Rosie and Sophie Webster also make a return?

Helen Flanagan, who played Rosie, left the soap in 2018, and Brooke Vincent, who portrayed Sophie, departed the following year in 2019.

However, in November 2024, Helen revealed she would love to return to Coronation Street if asked. Speaking to The Sun, Helen teased: “I would absolutely love to go back to Coronation Street. I’ve moved around a lot with my ex and football, but now I’m back where I grew up. For me to return to the show, they’d have to ask me back.”

As for Sophie, Brooke Vincent wasn’t keen on a return in May 2024, telling The Sun: “It’s been a massive part of my life, and the people I worked with are like family. So while I’m not talking about a comeback, I wouldn’t want to get a call saying, ‘We’re killing you off!’ That would be devastating!” However, nearly ten months after this interview, things may have changed for Brooke.

So, could Kevin’s cancer storyline be the perfect opportunity for Coronation Street to bring back the much-loved characters Rosie and Sophie Webster?
