Coronation Street fan favorite Catherine Tyldesley is making a dramatic comeback after seven years away from the soap.

Coronation Street producers are preparing for a major return, bringing beloved star Catherine Tyldesley back to the cobbles after seven years away.
The 41-year-old actress will reprise her role as the fiery Eva Price, with filming set to begin this summer before her on-screen return later in the year.
A source revealed to The Sun: “Cath has been busy with numerous projects during her time away but missed Corrie a lot. They’ve tried to bring her back before, but the timing never worked out. When she was approached with the idea of Eva’s return, it was an offer she couldn’t refuse.”
The source added, “Filming will start this summer, and fans can expect to see her back on screen in the autumn.”
“She’s thrilled and can’t wait to be back on the cobbles, and this storyline is definitely one you won’t want to miss.”

Tyldesley first joined the ITV soap in 2011, bringing drama, romance, and heartbreak to Weatherfield until her emotional exit in 2018.
During her time on the show, Eva was at the heart of intense storylines, including passionate relationships with Aidan Connor, Adam Barlow, Rob Donovan, Jason Grimshaw, and Nick Tilsley.
Her most devastating moment came when she found out she was pregnant with Aidan Connor’s child and made a secret plan with Toyah Battersby to give the baby away. However, when their secret was uncovered, Toyah returned baby Susie, and Eva was left heartbroken after Aidan tragically took his own life.
Not long after, Eva left Weatherfield for a fresh start in France with her mother, Stella, and fans have been hoping for her return ever since.
The announcement comes as several beloved characters are leaving the soap.
Earlier this year, Tyldesley suggested she might be open to returning, telling Prima magazine: “Coronation Street feels like a lifetime ago, but I always look back on it with so much affection.”

She revealed that producers had tried to bring her back in the past, saying: “They’ve asked me to return a few times over the years, but I was always tied up with other projects.”
Since her departure from Corrie, Tyldesley has secured prominent TV roles, including starring in BBC One’s Scarborough, Channel 5’s The Good Ship Murder, and even competing on Strictly Come Dancing in 2019. More recently, she made a guest appearance on Michelle Keegan’s hit Sky comedy Brassic.
