Corrie bosses announce major shake-up as star returns with two new siblings

Coronation Street is set for a shake-up as three new characters arrive on the cobbles, including a familiar face, as ITV producers aim to inject fresh energy into the show.

These new heartthrobs are set to stir up “chaos” on Coronation Street.

The first to arrive on the cobbles will be James Bailey, now portrayed by Jason Callender, next Monday (March 17). Previously played by Nathan Graham, the character had been residing in the US.

Jason shared: “James is bringing plenty of warmth, a touch of love, charisma, and a hint of charm.”

“James is driven—once he sets his sights on something, he goes all in. As the younger sibling, expect some playful pranks, but above all, he deeply values his family and has a strong desire to become a father.”

Theo Silverton is set to arrive in Weatherfield on March 25, played by James Cartwright. Describing his character, he said: “I believe Theo has a good heart. He steps in with the best intentions, like most do, but his actions might ruffle a few feathers.”

The last newcomer to arrive will be Carl Webster, played by Jonathan Howard, on April 11. He shared: “Carl is the younger half-brother of Kevin and Debbie Webster, as they have different mothers, making him a bit younger than them.

“He comes to Weatherfield, seemingly to support his brother after learning about his cancer diagnosis, but it soon becomes clear that Carl is also dealing with financial troubles back in Germany, where he has been living.”

Introducing Theo and Carl, along with James’ return, ITV has hinted: “[They] share deep family connections and a past that’s sure to stir up fresh drama and tension for some of our most beloved residents. But beyond their charming façades, what truly lurks beneath the surface, and what secrets are they hiding?”
