EastEnders fans are convinced that Kathy Beale is about to start a new romance with a resident of Walford.
EastEnders fans are speculating that Kathy Beale, played by Gillian Taylforth, is on the verge of a new romance, much to the dismay of some residents of Albert Square. Following the heartbreaking death of Martin Fowler, portrayed by James Bye, on February 20, the community has been reeling from the loss of the beloved greengrocer.
Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) is devastated, having imagined a future with Martin before his life was tragically cut short by a falling metal beam in The Queen Vic, leading to a fatal heart attack. Meanwhile, Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) is doing her best to comfort her grieving daughter, Stacey, while appearing to pull away from her boyfriend, Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman).
Despite Harvey’s friendship with Martin, he hasn’t received any emotional support from his girlfriend, Jean. In Monday’s episode (March 3), tensions flared between Stacey and her daughter Lily (Lillia Turner) over Ruby Allen (Louisa Lytton).
However, when Harvey attempts to make tea for Stacey and Jean, his kind offer is turned down.
This scene has sparked a flurry of speculation among EastEnders fans, who now believe Jean will start pushing Harvey away, bringing him closer to Kathy. Last year, Kathy and Harvey became more connected after her marriage to his best friend, Rocky Cotton (Brian Conley), ended, and the pressure of helping The Six cover up Keanu Taylor’s (Danny Walters) murder weighed heavily on her, according to Plymouth Live.
EastEnders fans are now predicting that Harvey will find comfort in Kathy’s arms once again, as their possible romance begins to heat up.
On Reddit, one fan speculated: “Jean will probably start pushing him back towards Kathy, and we’ll see that storyline play out again. It’s a shame, though, because he reminds me of Charlie Slater.”
Another fan complimented Harvey, saying: “Harvey is a gem of a man. He deserves so much better.” Someone else questioned his current relationship, saying: “Why on earth does Harvey stay with Jean? He’s far too good for her and her awful family, especially when he could have been with Kathy.”
