EastEnders fans were left shocked as Teddy Mitchell’s sinister side was revealed. However, away from the BBC soap, actor Roland Manookian has a connection to a Walford legend.

EastEnders has revealed a shocking truth about Teddy Mitchell, exposing him as a violent aggressor. Since arriving in Walford last year as Billy Mitchell’s (Perry Fenwick) long-lost half-brother, the charismatic yet mysterious Teddy, played by Roland Manookian, has kept fans guessing.
However, with the BBC One soap currently unraveling a secret paternity storyline, Teddy’s true nature is starting to emerge. Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) is hiding the fact that Zack Hudson (James Farrar), not Teddy, is the biological father of her teenage son, Barney (Lewis Bridgeman).
Nicola had planned to keep this a secret, particularly with the knowledge that Zack’s half-sister, Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), had an affair with her ex-husband, Grant Mitchell (Ross Kemp). This revelation could add to the emotional turmoil of Sharon’s suicidal ex-husband and Grant’s brother, Phil (Steve McFadden).

Earlier this week, Nicola arranged a vicious attack on Zack to keep him quiet, but her actions provoked a furious reaction from Sharon, who confronted Nicola violently. The tension intensified when Barney revealed to Teddy the truth about Sharon’s affair.
Teddy was left reeling after learning the truth about Sharon’s betrayal, with Sharon admitting to her affair with Grant and apologizing, calling it a mistake, according to Plymouth Live.
However, her confession pushed Teddy, usually calm, into a fit of rage. He smashed household items and lashed out at Sharon, accusing her of treating him like Phil and criticizing her for not sharing these problems with him sooner, leaving Sharon shaken and distressed.

When Zack finds his distressed sister, Teddy snaps at him again, only stopping when Barney steps in. Later, Nicola gives both men a stern warning about revealing the truth of Barney’s paternity to Teddy. She cautions that the menacing side of Teddy they witnessed today is a glimpse of his past – the cold, ruthless Teddy she once fell in love with.
Nicola is terrified of what Teddy might do if he loses Barney, claiming that Teddy is a murderer and was involved in the disappearance of Harry’s girlfriend, Shireen Bashar.
While Albert Square’s Teddy Mitchell is brought to life by actor Roland Manookian, off-screen, he shares a close friendship with former Queen Vic landlord actor Danny Dyer. The pair have worked together in several popular films throughout the 2000s, including The Football Factory.

The 2004 film The Football Factory featured Dyer as the disillusioned 29-year-old Tommy Johnson, a man who lives for weekend football matches, while Manookian played his troublesome younger friend, Zeberdee. The two also appeared together in Goodbye Charlie Bright (2001) and The Business (2005).
Mick Carter disappeared on Christmas Day 2022 after a nine-year run on EastEnders, in a shocking plot twist where he was swept away by the sea. Authorities later confirmed their belief that Mick drowned and declared him presumed dead, but fans are still eagerly hoping for his return.
One optimistic viewer recently shared on X: “I want them to have found Mick with memory loss, done a DNA test, and called Shirley to collect him. Let Shirley have been hiding him, and bring them back together this Christmas #EastEnders.”
Another fan expressed their hope online, saying: “I’d love to see Mick Carter back, and for him and Linda to be reunited,” while someone else added: “#EastEnders, all we need now is Mick back.”
Sharing their EastEnders frustrations, one person posted: “Right @bbceastenders, you’ve killed off Martin, the public voted for the wrong man for Denise… the LEAST you could do is bring Mick back for our Linda!!! #EastEnders.”
