General Hospital spoilers and updates reveal that Roger Howarth will be hosting a fan event where tickets will be available for purchase, and attendees will have the chance to hear his personal stories. Roger shared this exciting announcement on his Instagram stories.
Roger Played Three Very Different Characters During His Time On The Soap
Few actors can say they’ve portrayed three completely different characters on one soap opera, but Roger Howarth managed to do so on General Hospital from 2012 to 2023. He first portrayed Todd Manning, a character from One Life to Live who crossed over to General Hospital.
After that, he took on the role of Franco Baldwin, a character initially played by James Franco, and lastly, he became Austin Gatlin-Holt. As fans are aware, both of his final characters were written off the show through death.
Unless General Hospital introduces a storyline where his characters return from the dead, it appears unlikely that Roger Howarth will reprise those roles, as no plans for his return have been announced. However, fans will have the opportunity to see him in person at an event where he will share stories from his daytime career.
Event Details
Roger Howarth announced an exciting event on his Instagram story: a special “storytelling and lunch” experience on Sunday, March 23. The event will begin at 11:00 am at Uncle Vinnie’s Comedy Club, located at 518 Arnold Avenue in Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey. Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy a meal with the actor while he shares fascinating stories from his career. Tickets are priced at $96.95 and can be purchased now.
A Soapy History With A Generous Sprinkling of Primetime
Roger Howarth was discovered through a nationwide talent search and soon landed the role of Kent Winslow on the ABC soap opera Loving, though his time on the show was short-lived.
Not long after, he was cast as Todd Manning on the ABC soap One Life to Live. Initially meant to be a minor character, Todd’s complex and dark past helped him quickly become one of the show’s most beloved and iconic figures, earning widespread recognition from the media.

Roger Howarth portrayed Todd Manning on and off starting in 1992, receiving considerable acclaim for his performance, including a Daytime Emmy Award in 1994. His intense on-screen chemistry with Kassie DePaiva’s character, Blair Cramer, captured the audience’s attention, and together, they became one of the show’s most beloved supercouples.
Roger Continued Making Waves In The Soap World
In addition to his work on One Life to Live, Roger Howarth also portrayed the murderer Randall Lynch in the sci-fi series Prey for four episodes and played Paul Ryan on As The World Turns.
On General Hospital, he took over the role of Franco Baldwin from James Franco as a regular cast member. However, on March 9, 2021, Franco’s character was tragically killed by Peter August, played by Wes Ramsey.
Howarth made his final appearance as Franco Baldwin on March 11, 2021, before returning as Dr. Austin Gatlin-Holt on May 27. In November 2023, Howarth announced his exit from General Hospital.
