After joining Walford last year as Jay Brown’s love interest, Jazzy Phoenix shot to fame. However, since departing the BBC serial opera, the actress has found a new job on stage.
Jazzy Phoenix, a former EastEnder, has scored a new job that will see him go from the small screen to the stage.
September 2023 marked Jazzy’s on-screen debut as Nadine Keller, the character she joined last year on the BBC One serial opera. After the death of Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold), the escort and law student found solace in the company of the bereaved widow Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick), and soon after that they became involved.
Nadine came back earlier this year, trying to con Jay into giving her money by pretending to be pregnant with his child. Nadine swiftly departs Walford after Stevie Mitchell (Alan Ford) shows everyone her phony bump in The Queen Vic, and she hasn’t been seen since.
Jazzy left the BBC One soap opera, and she is now cast in the stage version of Come What May.
She will appear on the show with AJ Pritchard, a former star of Strictly Come Dancing, and Curtis, his brother, who was a star of Love Island.
“Greetings from the Moulin Rouge! Meet the brilliant stars of Come What May’s 2024 UK tour! saw an Instagram post including a picture of Jazzy introducing the new cast members.
Jazzy joined Johnny Seifert on the Secure The Insecure podcast, where she discussed her passion for acting and the pressures of being an actress.
Speaking about her rise to fame from the long-running soap opera, Jazzy clarified that she doesn’t see herself as famous even though she has gained more media attention and social media followers as a result of the show.
“I’m not famous by any stretch of the word”, she said: “I have certainly received some attention from this show, some positive and some negative – I was expecting that.”
Jazzy added: “I made some lovely lovely friends at EastEnders who warned me about what was to come so I wasn’t completely in the dark.”
The former co-star Patsy Kensit, who portrayed Emma Harding on EastEnders when she joined the cast, then shared some sage advice with the soap opera actress.
“To make sure the relationship I have with myself is in check, make sure that I have a good stable sense of self, and that I have people around me who are not interested in the paper what’s being said or what’s being done.”
“Patsy is an incredible woman who should be admired for the way she navigates the world around her,” the speaker continued. She advised me to stay grounded and to keep communicating, letting others know how I’m doing and feeling.
“That was the advice of everyone really, ‘make sure you stay in the real world’.”
Jazzy acknowledged that she utilizes counseling and journaling as strategies to maintain her wellbeing when facing stress and anxiety. She also acknowledged that she is not very interested in social media and would rather focus on her artwork.
