Spoilers for General Hospital hint that Lois Cerullo (Rena Sofer) hasn’t had a love partner in a very long time. She has since returned to Port Charles for a number of months, during which she has primarily assisted her daughter Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) in preparing for her nuptials with Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard).
However, the wedding took place months ago, and Lois made the decision to remain in Port Charles in order to be nearer to her daughter and Gio Palmieri, a recent arrival in Port Charles (Giovanni Mazza).

Only a few weeks ago, Lois was named the Deception spokeswoman; prior to then, she primarily participated in in-store marketing campaigns. She recently wrapped up her Home & Heart television program, though, and with it came some insecurities.
First, a staff member at the station told a fellow wordsmith how awful Lois’ accent was. Sadly, Lois overheard the conversation, but she was still a fantastic salesperson for Deceptions’ merchandise.

Viewers are aware of Lois’s strong Brooklyn accent from the beginning. It has always been a part of her, just like her ostentatious nails and outfits. However, a caller expressed dissatisfaction with the segment’s conclusion, stating that she was hard to comprehend.
Lois felt so self-conscious about this, even though Gio and Brook Lynn had reassured her. In fact, Lois called a dialect coach to schedule an appointment following her conversation with Gio.

Even though Lois seems to be embarking on a journey of self-discovery, there might be more going on here than first meets the eye. What happens if Lois and the coach start developing a connection right away? Is this how Lois meets the person she wants to date next?
While they agree to see each other as possible dates, maybe the coach will even persuade Lois that she is attractive exactly the way she is and counsel her not to change a thing. It’s high time Lois found her own true love!
