Fans of Coronation Street believe that caregiver Cassie Plummer is con artists, and they believe that Ken Barlow will be deceived and could “lose everything.”
Supporters of Coronation Street are concerned that legendary actor Ken Barlow might lose everything.
Fans of the soap opera will remember that Cassie Plummer, played by Claire Sweeney, was only recently hired as a caregiver when Ken (William Roache) fell earlier this year, and she has been taking care of the Weatherfield veteran ever since.
While Cassie’s care for Ken initially seemed altruistic and endearing, viewers of the soap opera have begun to get suspicious, particularly after Ken revealed to Cassie that he had won a £50K premium bond. Steve McDonald, Ken’s son-in-law, found out on Monday night’s show that Cassie was going to take Ken to an opulent spa.
Steve, however, was suspicious and inquired as to if Ken was covering the cost of the trip, implying that she was ‘taking advantage’ of an elderly guy for a ‘free holiday,’ and forecasting that she would leave him at the hotel. Cassie retaliated, stating that nobody gives caregivers much thought and that Ken will benefit from the trip, noting that she likes having him around.
Fans of King to Twitter, and now X, are concerned that Cassie might be swindling Ken out of his £50K premium bond victory, and they think she might have other plans to obtain the money. “Cassie is going to blindly rob Ken. A user commented, “Fact,” while another noted, “Cassie loves spending Ken’s money and isn’t even ashamed of it.” (sic)
Another response was: “YES STEVE – Cassie is taking advantage of ‘Kenny’ She is after his £50k premium bond win!” One person said, “Cassie’s running away from Ken has started.” #corrie. (sic)
In the meantime, just weeks after making a comeback to the ITV soap opera, actress Kate Ford seemed to depart Coronation Street as Tracy Barlow once more on Monday night. Following a disagreement with her lover Tommy Orpington, with whom she had relocated to Spain earlier this year and had an affair, leaving her husband Steve devastated, Tracy returned to Weatherfield.
As they emerged from the cobbles once more, Tracy offered her ex some advise, pointing out that Cassie clearly had feelings for him. She recommended that the two go on a date and see where it goes. Fans have speculated that Cassie might be tricking Ken, so will Steve suffer heartbreak once more?
