Nicola, the ex-wife of Teddy Mitchell from EastEnders, is scheduled to make her debut shortly, but fans have been saying the same thing.
Nicola, Teddy Mitchell’s ex-wife, will soon be arriving to EastEnders, the show has confirmed.
Earlier this year, Teddy (Roland Manookian) stunned viewers on the soap opera by unexpectedly showing up as Billy’s (Perry Fenwick) long-lost brother. Since then, Teddy and his kids Barney (played by Lewis Bridgeman) and Harry (played by Elijah Holloway) have made Walford and the Mitchell family their home.
But it’s evident that the family has been concealing a significant issue. Additionally, it was reported this week that Teddy will be getting a taste of the past when his ex-wife returns to the show in the fall.
Later this year, scenes featuring Laura Doddington’s character, Teddy’s ex-wife Nicola, will be aired. She upset a few people with her unexpected visit, so she immediately introduces herself to the other Mitchell family members.
Teddy isn’t thrilled that Nicola has moved into his new neighborhood, but Nicola isn’t deterred because she wants to heal her differences with her sons. Laura Doddington, an actress, has already begun filming scenes for the serial opera.
She described her thrilling new position in a statement, saying, “I keep pinching myself because I still can’t believe I joined EastEnders! I grew up watching the program, so when I first shot in The Vic, I felt like a little child filming in a famous location with an amazing cast and crew.
“Nicola is a complex woman who comes in like the Tasmanian Devil,” the speaker continued. She’s strong and absolutely shameless about who she is.
“Having my Mitchell boys, Roland, Elijah, and Lewis, under my wing and making us feel like a family right away, has been such a blessing. So far, I’m enjoying every moment.”
Many EastEnders fans are thrilled about Nicola’s arrival. Some fans, meanwhile, couldn’t help but note how much the actress resembles Letitia Dean’s younger self, Sharon Watts.
One fan commented on an EastEnders Facebook page, saying, “Looks like a young Sharon.” Another wrote, “It seems like she could be Sharon.” A third person added, writing, “I had the same impression. Glad it’s not just me!”
Another user echoed their sentiments when they commented, “I honestly thought this was an old photo of Sharon!” “At first glance I thought she was young Sharon!” wrote the fifth person.
Laura Doddington is no stranger to the soap opera screen as an actress. Over the years, she has made appearances in shows like The Bill, Casualty, Holby City, Doctors, and The Midwich Cuckoos.
