When will we next see Peter Barlow?
Carla received her divorce papers from Peter in tonight’s (Friday, October 4) episode of Coronation Street. Will he come back, though?
Viewers will be aware that Peter’s marriage to Carla ended on Boxing Day of last year when he fled the Street.
The divorce between Carla and Peter is now final. But what does this signify for a future in which Peter might make a comeback?
Coronation Street: Peter and Carla’s divorce
In a moment of intense emotion, Peter and Carla called it quits on Boxing Day of last year.
Tensions were high when Stephen Reid was murdered by Peter’s automobile. Furthermore, Carla was unsure of the best way to support her spouse.
Carla saw that Peter was unhappy in the relationship and encouraged him to go with his friend on his boat, understanding that leaving Weatherfield and traveling was his goal.
The duo then kissed each other goodbye and never looked back. Getting the news that Peter had started dating someone new after seeing images of him through Simon earlier this year, tonight, things got true for Carla.
She received the divorce papers, sealing the end of her marriage to Peter. She eventually opened up to Ryan about how much receiving the documents had affected her after being irrationally angry with everyone else all day.
Will Peter ever return?
It appears that Peter Barlow has moved on from Carla. With his son Simon and his new beau by his side, he is sailing at sea.
In later sequences, Carla appears to be ready to move on as well because she senses a connection developing with her friend DS Lisa Swain.
Actor Chris Gascoyne is currently working on new projects away from the cobbles. Following his pantomime appearances, Chris will be seen in the next productions of Go Away! and The Feud.
Though there are presently no plans for Chris to play Peter again, the possibility has been left open should he decide to do so in the future.
We shouldn’t count out Peter Barlow making a comeback at some point because viewers have seen him come and leave several times throughout the years.
