General Hospital Spoilers: Will Ric Stand By as Elizabeth Suddenly Opens Her Arms to Lucky?

Spoilers for General Hospital hint that following the tragic loss of newborn Irene Marie Davis Ashford, Rick Hearst’s character Ric Lansing returned to Port Charles.

Irene was born sleeping, so she would never have met her grandfather, but we also have to wonder if she ever would have. Molly Lansing Davis (Kristen Vaganos), Ric’s daughter, doesn’t seem to mind that he hasn’t been around much as a parent.

Everyone who has a past with Ric is not happy that he has stayed in town longer than anticipated after taking on Heather Webber’s (Alley Mills) case.

However, Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) doesn’t appear to mind that he is around. She is free to refuse to engage with him, though, and she actually doesn’t feel compelled to. She made it very apparent to her ex-husband that their relationship would consist only of discussion and coffee.

Why? She is not interested in forming any kind of bond. Perhaps with a glimmer of optimism in the back of his mind, Ric accepted that. When he sees her on her way to a reunion with Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson), one of her other ex-hubs, will he still believe her explanation?

General Hospital Spoilers — Ric Never Takes No for an Answer

Ric has never taken well to being told no for as long as we’ve known him. He likes to pursue the ladies he is interested in until they give up and accept him, or until he deceives them into believing a string of falsehoods about him.

That, of course, never lasts. In the instance of Elizabeth and Ric, it didn’t. After giving her birth control pills to make her think they couldn’t conceive, he wrecked her and their marriage.

That landed her in the hospital with an embolism, among other things he did. Elizabeth would never trust Ric again, therefore it’s safe to assume that her reason for not desiring a relationship was a tactful way to turn down any interest he might have had in her.

Elizabeth’s world is going to completely collapse when Lucky returns to town. Dr. Terry Randolph (Cassandra James) attempted to encourage her to remain open-minded, but Elizabeth finds no indication that Lucky has undergone a transformation or that she might anticipate greater things from him.

She’s had enough burns recently. Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) died, however it wasn’t really his fault. She was grieving, and it was even more difficult to witness her boys’ suffering.

Then, it was a devastating blow to all of them when she lost Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) in the manner that she did. While it’s true that she doesn’t want to let Lucky into her heart, hasn’t that not always been the case? The girl is unable to assist herself.

General Hospital Spoilers — Lucky Has Always Been the One

It is accurate. Lucky and Elizabeth have been one of those dynamic couples that captured our hearts since they were very young. It hurt to see Lucky become into a lesser version of his father, Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary), rather than the husband and father her boys needed.

Although it sounds like Lucky has had a bit of an awakening and might demonstrate to her that he has changed, she doesn’t want to go through that again. Whether it’s true or not, Elizabeth might easily fall for that. After burning her so horribly and disappearing for ten years, Ric is unlikely to take it well when she rejects his advances and accepts those from Lucky while he watches from the sidelines.
