Jack P Shepherd, who portrayed David Platt on the ITV serial opera for 24 years, is a legendary figure from Coronation Street.
Fans of Coronation Street are ecstatic about Jack P Shepherd’s love life update. The ITV actor, who is most recognized for playing David Platt on the Cobbles, has revealed the precise day of his nuptials.
The actor proposed to his longtime partner Hanni Treweek during a dreamy “once in a lifetime” safari trip, and the two announced their engagement back in June. He has now declared that July 26, 2025, will be the day they exchange vows.
The actor posted a picture of Hanni’s stunning engagement ring and well-groomed fingers on Instagram, giving fans a glimpse of their “Save the Date” cards.
As they praised the artist behind the cards, the pair discussed the decision behind the exquisite artwork, which features a skyline of Manchester, where they currently reside. “We wanted something original that celebrates our home in Manchester, the place we fell in love & built our life together,” the caption reads, accompanying the adorable photos of the pair celebrating with a glass of bubbly.
“If you pay close attention, you can see murals by @dave__draws all throughout the city. We are really happy with what Dave has done for us! I appreciate you creating something truly unique.”
“26th July 2025 we become Mr & Mrs Shepherd!!” they continued, announcing the exciting news.

Initially, Hanni and Jack announced their engagement on Instagram as well. To share the good news, they posted a joint post with photos from their safari vacation.
“5.06.24 I said YES to forever!!!” Hanni commented, sharing the news with the photos.
In an interview with friends Colson Smith and Ben Price for their podcast On The Sofa, David Platt revealed that he left the task of locating the ideal location to his safari tour guide.
He clarified that they had to choose a place where it would be safe for him to get out of the jeep and get down on one knee because they were surrounded by wild animals.
He needed to locate a place where he could say, “Okay, we’re clear now, you can jump out,” according to Jack. We then leaped out and had lunch under this tree while enjoying a picnic.”
Since 2017, Jack and Hanni have been a couple. They met during the course of the show; she is a former storyliner and researcher for Coronation Street.
