This winter, Julian Clary and Jane McDonald will co-star in the pantomime of Robin Hood at the London Palladium.
Co-star Julian Clary, who played Jane McDonald, was so enamored of the cruise legend that he called her “my love interest”.
This winter, the two are slated to light up the stage in the seasonal pantomime of Robin Hood at the London Palladium. The skills of American actress Marisha Wallace, West End phenomenon Rob Madge, and former Coronation Street actor Nigel Havers will be featured alongside them.
Julian discussed his return to the Palladium, a location he is familiar with, with Lorraine Kelly, the host of her own ITV show: “[The Palladium] is kind of your second home, especially around Christmastime.”
When Lorraine talked about his partnership with Jane, she said, “You’ll be back there, because lovely Jane McDonald was on the show last week and she was talking about working with you, very much looking forward to it.”
Julian declared that he was excited to collaborate with Jane and acknowledged that he was also completely engrossed in her novel. I’ve been enjoying Jane’s music and reading her book. She’s my love interest,” reports the Mirror.
Lorraine also expressed her love for Jane, saying, “It doesn’t matter about her book—I’m smitten with her! You two will always be friends. You’ll naturally click. The panto must be one of your favorite moments of the year.
With Jane playing Maid Marion in the next show, Julian enthusiastically consented to play the lead part.
This information comes after Lorraine disclosed that, following the tragic death of her partner Eddie Rothe, she is now living with someone else. Sue Ravey, Jane’s friend and PA, has taken up residence with Jane.
Jane revealed about Lorraine: “It’s the greatest thing ever. She’s a terrific cook, she does my hair and make-up. She opens the trash cans! What more could I possibly want, you ask? She’s also utterly funny.”
Sue waved to Lorraine and Jane from onstage, prompting Lorraine to remark: “How lovely to have that, because despite your successes and all the amazing things you do, you don’t want to go back to an empty house.”
Jane agreed, saying, “No, you don’t. The house, incidentally, is too huge. My nails are getting too weak, Lorraine, because all we do is clean this enormous house! Therefore, I believe we will now downsize, and we are excited about it.”
