Who, though, is his spouse? How much did he make on Coronation Street as a child? And which commercial did he appear in before to becoming well-known from soap operas? Continue reading to learn more.
Sam Aston is a British actor, best known for playing Chesney Brown on Corrie. At the age of ten, he began working on the soap opera in 2003, and he has continued to do so ever since.
Sam may appear younger, but in reality, he was born on June 7, 1993, making him 31 years old.
Where Dancing On Ice star Sam Aston and his famous sister are from
The birthplace of Sam Aston is Burnley, England. He comes from a family of entertainers, though. Born on February 26, 1982, Emily, his sister, is also an actor.
In 1990, she made an appearance on Oranges Are Not The Only Fruit. Emily has appeared in episodes of Doctors, The Bill, Casualty, and The Other One.
Additionally, Emily played Rebecca Palmer on Coronation Street from 1996 to 1997.
Sam Aston’s iconic advert role before Corrie
Sam’s first part was in an Asda advertisement for George before he went on Corrie. Then, in the 1990s, he landed a part in a Warburtons bread commercial, which Sam claimed is the one that people are still talking about more than 20 years later.
The celebrity told OK!, “My famous line in it was: ‘Don’t be stupid, it’s pouring down with rain!'”
Who is Sam Aston’s wife?
Sam Aston’s wife is yoga teacher Briony Gardner. The two had been friends since their teenage years, when they first began conversing on MSN.
“I was around 15 or 16 when I first met Briony.” He previously told The Mirror, “We got together, but we were very young,” and that’s when he made the decision to break up with Briony.
Years later, though, the two managed to reconnect. “After three or four years, we were both volunteering at the same drama workshop,” he continued. I began acting classes at Carol Godby’s acting school when I was a little child.
“Briony was in the room next door while I was teaching. When I first stepped in, I suppose she gave me a strange look, but we quickly got past that and started talking. That evening, we had dinner at a rural bar and called it a night. Since then, we have remained together.
Sam Aston and Briony’s wedding
Sam and Briony got engaged in 2017. In 2019, the couple married at Stock Farm, a location in Cheshire.
Sam and Briony chose to include yoga and acrobatics in their first dance performance, which they performed to the song “Stay With You” by John Legend. But when Sam almost “dropped” his wife at the end, it almost ended in tears.
Sam’s co-stars from Corrie, Katie McGlynn, Brooke Vincent, and Colson Smith, were present at the opulent event.
At their wedding, Sam and Briony also decided to have a fish and chip dinner. The classic chip store boxes held the British staple, which was served to the guests.
Sam Aston is a proud dad to three children
Sam has three beautiful children with his wife Briony.
The couple welcomed Sonny, their first child, six weeks ahead of schedule in August 2020. Daisy Josephine was the baby child Sam and Briony welcomed in May 2022.
The couple previously discussed the endearing significance of the name of their second kid. Josephine is a tribute to my grandfather Joe and Sam’s brother Jo, the actress told OK!. Daisy is also the French name for Marguerite, and Margaret is the name of my mother’s mother, so it was a way to include both of their grandparents.
And Sam and Briony welcomed Hazel, a daughter, as their third child in May 2024.
Sweet way Sam found out he was becoming a dad
Briony disclosed in 2020 how sweetly she informed Sam that he would be the father of their first child.
“We hadn’t been trying for long, but I bought a board you serve eggs on that had ‘Daddy you’re a good egg’ etched into it,” Briony said to OK! Magazine. I always give Sam deviant eggs, so I wanted to find a pleasant way to inform him when I actually get pregnant. Fortunately for us, my first pregnancy test came back positive as quickly as I could.
“I came down for breakfast and the TV was playing the highlights of Match of the Day; it felt like my birthday!” Sam continued. After Briony set the board down, I became distracted watching Burnley play and didn’t even notice the message. I was ecstatic when I finally saw it after a little while. I asked, “Really?” repeatedly. It seemed so bizarre.
Baby loss heartbreak
Sam and Briony have been transparent about experiencing two devastating miscarriages in a span of four months from each other.
Briony shared an altered photo of a pregnancy test kit on her Instagram account in July 2023, with the caption, “Not pregnant any more.”
“This is a difficult thing to share, but in the interest of breaking the taboo, I’m miscarrying again, the second time in four months,” she wrote as the caption for her photo. Although it’s unfair and upsetting, I’m not looking for pity. I want other people to feel as supported as I do.
“And that’s why I wanted to share this today—it really does make all the difference to have someone you can talk to and get consolation from others who have experienced similar things.”
Additionally, in 2023, Sam and Briony discussed their miscarriages in an emotional interview on Loose Women.
“We never reached 12 weeks with either of them,” stated Briony. I informed close friends and family first, then, with the second one, I considered not telling them to spare myself the heartache, but we did inform them.
Vanishing twin syndrome
The couple was told with sadness that they had been expecting twins but had lost one because of vanishing twin syndrome in 2023, while they were expecting Hazel. When a fetus stops growing and the embryo is absorbed by the mother’s body, this occurs.
“It was exactly what I would describe as bittersweet. We had always desired a healthy child, so we were happy and grateful. Then we began to consider that we might have had two… Will the surviving twin perpetually ask himself, “What if?” We were appreciative of what we had but also found ourselves wondering what might have been, Briony told OK!.
Are Mikey North and Sam Aston related?
No, despite both having red hair, Sam is not related to Mikey North. In addition, Mikey is well-known from Coronation Street for his role as Gary Windass.
How Sam Aston earns on Corrie
Sam reportedly signed a massive £40,000 contract to stay on the ITV serial opera back in 2004 when he was just 11 years old.
At the time, a Corrie insider reportedly told The Sun, “They are lining up more strong storylines for him and will make him into an even bigger star,” according to Digital Spy.
A few years later, it was revealed that 13-year-old Sam had been offered a £30,000, six-month contract by the serial opera.
