Fans of the ITV serial opera Emmerdale were taken aback when actor Reece Dinsdale, who portrayed Paul Ashdale, posted a photo of himself from thirty years ago.
Reece Dinsdale, the former heartthrob of Emmerdale and Coronation Street, posted a throwback photo from over 30 years ago, which threw fans into a nostalgic frenzy.
The actor, 64, rose to prominence in the iconic ITV serial opera by playing the disturbed Paul Ashdale. His character was well-known for the mental and physical abuse he perpetrated on his son Vinny. He had joined the ranks of the made-up Yorkshire village four years earlier.
Paul Ashdale’s stormy voyage came to an end tragically on his wedding day when he was killed by an explosion. A dramatic explosion, a collapsing barn beam, and Jimmy King’s van sealed his fate.
Reece’s life after Emmerdale hasn’t kept him out of the spotlight; on social media, he often informs his fans about his daily activities away from the small screen.
According to Leeds Live, the adored TV personality from Normanton recently delighted social media with a photo from their first vacation in Florence, circa 1992.
He remarked, “My wife just dug out this old photo,” next to the post. Our first journey together. Florence in the year 1992. I was thirty-two years old. #TimeFlies.
Soon after the photo was posted, followers flocked to the comments section to express their reactions. “I always thought you were a handsome young man,” a fan wrote. You’ve become into a beautiful person as you’ve aged. Both your wife and your kids are extremely fortunate to have you as a father. Love and light to all of you.”
Another person complimented Reece, saying, “Excellent shot. In your profile picture, you don’t appear to be 64. You are scarcely the same person at all. You remain a really attractive dude. Enjoy your weekend.

This comes after Reece, who portrayed Joe McIntyre on Coronation Street as well, revealed his incredible physical makeover after going on a weight loss journey while the show was under lockdown.
In front of supporters at the time, he said, “Amazing what ten weeks’ rest and recuperation (and far fewer crisps) can do for you.” He attributed his toned body to giving up crisps for ten weeks.
