What Happened to Violet on General Hospital

Violet Finn, played by young actress Jophielle Love, made her General Hospital debut in the Oct. 23, 2019, episode, marking the ultimate introduction of Finn and Hayden’s kid. And viewers were enchanted by the cutie right away, making it love at first sight! Unfortunately, on October 21, 2024, Love’s tenure on GH came to an end, shattering that magic.

When Hayden Barnes left Port Charles in 2017, she was pregnant, but she wrote to Hamilton Finn to inform him that she had lost the baby. However, it was discovered that she had given birth to a newborn girl and was keeping her hidden from her father when she returned to town in 2019. Sadly, when Violet became ill and was brought to the hospital, Hayden was forced to come clean. When Finn found out he had a daughter and that she was gravely ill, he was shocked. In order to avoid treating his own child, Finn sought advice from another physician after meeting his young girl. He then confronted Hayden for deceiving him.

Violet and her father were somewhat closer when Violet recovered and left the hospital. Finn was naturally enamored with the adorable child, but their lives took a surprising turn when Hayden left town after being misled into thinking Violet’s life was in jeopardy, leaving Violet in her father’s custody! Fortunately, Anna Devane had returned home and could aid Finn, even if Finn wasn’t thrilled about his daughter hanging around with Peter August because of his past. Because she didn’t want her mother to be replaced, Violet was first opposed to Anna marrying her father. However, they were able to persuade her to change her mind.

Finn and Anna created a loving family for Violet and even threw her a magnificent birthday celebration as they got ready to get married. Unfortunately, Charlotte Cassadine ruined the special day by bringing an unexpected guest and putting a snake in Ava’s purse! Violet also couldn’t wait to see her grandfather, Gregory Chase, and uncle, Harrison Chase.

Unfortunately, when Anna and Finn’s marriage fell through and they parted ways on their wedding day, Violet’s heart was crushed. She was also perplexed as to why her father, Uncle Chase, and Grandpa Gregory were at odds so frequently. (The truth was a little too complex for a little child to understand.) Violet and her father, who had just started dating Elizabeth Webber, moved into a new apartment. However, Liz experienced some drama when the young girl discovered an old picture of her with Jeff Webber, her estranged father.When Brook Lynn Quartermaine dropped by with some toy lightsabers for May 4th, Violet also served as a sort of matchmaker for her Uncle Chase while he was watching the kids. The four of them then proceeded to Kelly’s for supper. She also pointed out that Liz herself was present at all of the strange events, which helped Finn make the connections about Liz’s enigmatic haunting! To distract themselves from the predicament, Finn and Gregory took Violet and Liz’s sons camping for the weekend while Liz was devoted to Shadybrook.

Liz recovered, but when she and Finn were still at odds in June 2023, Violet acted as a matchmaker and arranged a romantic meal for them, which helped them get back in touch. In reality, Finn requested that Liz serve as Violet’s legal guardian in the event that he passed away. When her grandfather fell while watching her, she became concerned, but it wasn’t until February 2024 that Gregory and Finn met with Violet to inform her that he had ALS and was very ill. She grabbed the bouquet during Chase and Brook Lynn’s wedding in May, but the night following the festivities, she was devastated to hear that her grandfather had passed away in his sleep.

After his father passed away, Violet didn’t know that her father had relapsed, started drinking excessively, and reacted negatively to everyone attempting to assist him. In the end, Chase and Brook Lynn took Violet under their wing and moved into the Quartermaine mansion with him after Finn consented to attend treatment. Violet made an effort to fit in at her new house, hosting tea parties with Tracy Quartermaine and wondering when Brook Lynn and Chase would have their own child, despite her ongoing concerns about her father.

Violet received the wonderful news that Finn was leaving rehab after she got into a fight with a bully at school who had been making fun of her father. Violet moved to live with her dad in Seattle, even though everyone was sad to see her go.
