Corrie fans ‘rumble’ identity of Mason’s nasty dad – and he’s familiar face to viewers

Viewers of Coronation Street think they have figured out Mason Radcliffe’s father’s identity.

The mystery surrounding Mason Radcliffe’s father has been solved by Coronation Street viewers, and it turns out that he was once a soap villain.

In 2023, the infamous Mason (Luca Toolan) made a spectacular entry to the cobbles and immediately caused a stir. Viewers of the soap opera were horrified to witness him torturing Liam Connor (Charlie Wrenshall), the young son of Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon), to the point where Liam considered suicide.

But by April, Mason had been sent to a facility for young offenders for threatening Liam with a knife. Mason returned to the cobbles in July, a few months after his parole, and created quite a fuss. Liam and Dylan were completely taken aback.

Meanwhile, Stu Carpenter (Bill Fellows) has shown compassion for Mason, even hiring him to work at his restaurant, and claims that Mason is making an effort to change. Mason’s brother Logan (Harry Lowbridge), who had been hinted at as having a violent streak, recently made his soap opera debut.

However, it was revealed this week in Weatherfield that Logan is involved with the crew of villain Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor). According to the Liverpool Echo, on Monday’s (October 21) episode, imprisoned Harvey had Logan break into Sarah’s (Tina O’Brien) home, believing she held the freshly stolen money. When Sarah got home, she saw Logan, who shoved past her to get away.

Fans of Coronation Street believe they have figured out who Mason and Logan’s biological father might be. One user posted on Corrie fan pages: “Does anyone else believe Harvey might be Mason’s father? We’ve never met their father before, and his brother Logan works with him.”

“This is a good idea, his bullying has stemmed from something at home and it would make sense with Harvey as his dad!” posted another armchair detective in agreement. “Definitely!” added another fan, echoing the theory. He is doing the same thing as him.

When Luca, who portrays Mason, the bad lad, revealed to Digital Spy last year that his character might have relatives, the plot became more complicated. “Having a family would be fantastic. But since they’ve made this monster out of Mason, they’d probably all be awful,” he remarked.

“It would be great because it would inevitably mean I’d get to explore a different side of Mason and the fans would get to see that,” he said, expressing his eagerness to uncover more facets of Mason. It would be good to understand Mason’s motivations and transform him from a terrible fool into a three-dimensional human being.
