Is Billy ready to leave?
Billy Mayhew has had a really difficult year on Coronation Street, but many still want him to leave Weatherfield.
Since his husband Paul passed away, the vicar has been on a downward spiral and was recently duped.
Some viewers have expressed sympathy for him, while others have grown weary of his unpredictable actions.
Coronation Street: Billy’s grief journey
When Billy sent his parting speech, he discovered shortly after Paul’s funeral that his husband had already died. Although Bernie felt bad about admitting it, it was too late.
He began misbehaving after that and even planted a kiss on his ex-boyfriend Todd Grimshaw. Billy regrettably began drinking more, but he has recently been going to support groups for people who battle with drugs and alcohol, even though he hosts them.
However, Billy made a grave error in yesterday night’s (Monday, October 4) broadcast, which infuriated viewers.
Wayne, a stranger, was carried home by him. After attending a meeting, they both headed home to their apartment.
Summer was shocked when she got home because Billy had not told her he was coming over. Justifiably so.
Billy intervened when she begged the stranger not to harm her, telling her that Wayne had known Paul for years. Wayne had volunteered to assist in removing Paul’s bathroom rails.
Billy let him alone when he popped out because he trusted him. However, the situation deteriorated.
Billy mentioned seeing Wayne in another place, but Bernie recognized the name and declared him to be a con artist.
You avoid him at all costs. Bernie cautioned, “He only looks out for himself.” He caused a great deal of trouble for our Paul. He is a thief and a liar.
It was too late when Billy hurried back. Unfortunately, Bernie was correct, and Wayne had taken Paul’s tablet, Summer’s laptop (only a few days before an essay was due), and a jewelry box that held Paul’s ashes.
Coronation Street fans had enough of Billy
Social media was flooded with fans who couldn’t help but criticize Billy for his accident. They even demanded that he leave the show because they were unhappy with his reckless behavior.
“They really killed the wrong character off,” one X user said, implying that Paul ought to have lived rather than Billy.
This view was echoed by another fervent supporter, who added: “Can they launch Billy into space?” Later this week, Bernie is scheduled to launch Paul’s ashes into space.
“They could write Billy SO much better!” a third person commented. Dan is a talented actor, but the plots they offer him are generally awful. When Billy and Paul were together, Billy was at his best.
“Billy must make all the connections for me to realize that he is a truly awful person. A fourth said, “And everyone needs to stop saying he isn’t so he can face up to it.”
“Oh bore off Billy, you’re too much now,” said the fifth person.
