Coronation Street has brought in a new character, Brody, following Dylan Wilson’s sentencing to six months in STC.

Coronation Street has introduced a new character, Brody, to the beloved ITV soap. Just last week, Dylan Wilson, played by Liam McCheyne, faced sentencing in court for his involvement in the tragic death of Mason Radcliffe.
Dylan ended up in court after his knife was used by Mason’s ruthless brothers to take Mason’s life last month, leaving viewers heartbroken.
Despite Dylan’s emotional plea, where he insisted he only meant to frighten Mason’s brothers with the knife, the judge decided to charge him with the more serious offense of making threats with a weapon, as his appeal unintentionally backfired.
After careful consideration, the judge sentenced Dylan to six months in a Secure Training Centre (STC), a reduction from the original nine months due to his guilty plea. While at the STC, Dylan has formed a new friendship with fellow inmate, Brody.

In upcoming episodes, Brody advises Dylan to keep quiet about his former neighbor, teacher Daniel Osbourne. Later in the week, when a group of lads start bullying Dylan, Brody steps in, sending them away and telling Dylan to stick with him until he settles in.
Brody also warns Dylan that to avoid trouble, he needs to stop trying to impress the teacher. He later encourages Dylan to stop hanging around the STC and join him in sorting parcels for work, according to Leicestershire Live.
Soap fans on Twitter (now X) are buzzing as they spot actor Ryan Mulvey, known for playing JJ Osborne on Hollyoaks, now playing a character behind bars in Coronation Street. The actor, who recently left Hollyoaks, has surprised viewers with his soap switch, leaving them doing a double-take.
One fan tweeted: “JJ ended #Hollyoaks in jail and now starts #Corrie in jail,” while another wrote: “It’s the guy from Hollyoaks in prison with Dylan! #Corrie.” Some fans are even speculating about a potential crossover, with comments like: “JJ from #Hollyoaks is in the jail with him! Is this a #Corrie and Hollyoaks crossover?” and “Was that JJ from Hollyoaks? ? ? ? #Corrie.”

Other fans joined in with comments like: “JJ from Hollyoaks is in with Dylan. Ironically, his character in Hollyoaks was also in prison! #Corrie,” and “Did anyone else notice the guy in the prison is from Hollyoaks? #Corrie?”
The tweets keep rolling in, with fans commenting: “Wait, JJ from #Hollyoaks is in #Corrie? He literally just left, LOL,” and “It’s him from Hollyoaks, now he’s in jail in Wetherfield. #Corrie.”
One fan also added: “They missed a chance by not doing a crossover between #Corrie and #Hollyoaks, making JJ be in prison with Dylan. But Ryan’s a great actor, so I’m excited to see his character and how it unfolds.”
