Coronation Street fans are in for an emotional ride next week.
In the upcoming episodes, Max Turner’s exit storyline will unfold as he appears to hit rock bottom following the fire. Meanwhile, a shocking twist suggests that one character could face a tragic fate during a tense showdown.
Additionally, a cherished Weatherfield resident is scheduled for surgery after a devastating health diagnosis. Here are the key storylines to watch out for next week…
Max Turner’s collapse
On Monday night, Lancs Live reported that Max Turner was revealed as the true culprit behind the devastating fire at David and Shona Platt’s home.
The blaze, which impacted several Weatherfield residents, left Max and Toyah Battersby hospitalized. Thankfully, both fully recovered, but it was soon uncovered that the fire was an intentional act of arson. This led to the arrests of David and Leanne Battersby, despite their strong protests of innocence.
The truth was finally exposed on Monday night, thanks to Kevin Webster’s garage CCTV. While reviewing the footage, Shona identified Max’s hoodie—a Christmas present from a specialty skate shop.

The episode ended with the police carrying out forensic tests on the hoodie after finding it in a bin and linking it to the store where it was purchased.
Things appear to be going from bad to worse for Max, as upcoming spoilers reveal David and Shona visiting him in prison. They break the news that they’ve applied for his transfer to a Scottish prison for his protection.
However, Max remains doubtful about how safe he’ll be. With actor Paddy Bever, who portrays Max, set to leave the soap soon, could this mark the beginning of his exit storyline?
Shocking demise twist
In a surprising turn of events, DS Lisa Swain discovers a secret affair between Carla Connor’s brother, Rob Donovan, and prison officer Mandy during Monday night’s episode. The duo is scheming his escape while he remains in hospital, awaiting his kidney donation to Carla.
Lisa persuades Rob to proceed with the surgery, promising to work on overturning his conviction. However, next week’s spoilers suggest trouble ahead for Carla and Lisa, also known as ‘Swarla,’ as Rob is willing to go to any lengths to escape prison—regardless of who gets caught in the crossfire.

Lisa is close behind, but has she misjudged how far Rob is willing to go? Later, it’s discovered that Rob lies unconscious at the bottom of an office building stairwell. What happened to Rob, and who is to blame?
As the week progresses, Kit Green sets out to uncover the truth about Rob’s fate. Is Rob still alive, or has he met his end? And will Kit uncover the truth about what really happened? As the week continues, Lisa is questioned about Rob’s fate…
Wellness update
Next week will bring a health update for Kevin Webster following his devastating testicular cancer diagnosis. In the upcoming scenes, Kevin prepares for surgery at the hospital, surrounded by his family, except for Jack, whose absence frustrates Abi.
Later, in the hospital waiting area, the tension becomes too much for Abi to bear. When Kevin wakes up, he’s upset to find that Abi isn’t there.
Meanwhile, Abi sits in the car park, overwhelmed by memories of Mason’s final moments. She notices a gurney covered with a sheet and feels drawn to it. When she lifts the sheet, she’s left stunned by what she finds. What has Abi uncovered?

Soon after, the doctor informs Kevin, Debbie, and Jack that the surgery was a success. Worried about Abi’s whereabouts, Debbie tells Kevin that she has arranged therapy for Abi and will cover the cost of her treatment.
As the week progresses, Sally and Tim visit Kevin in the hospital. During their visit, Kevin insists that Abi needs him and plans to discharge himself, but Sally urges him to stay in bed.
Meanwhile, Abi attends her first therapy session and is surprised to run into someone she knows. The therapy seems to have a positive impact, as later, Abi returns home and tells Kevin that her session went well, and now it’s her turn to take care of him.
