Coronation Street actress Katy Cavanagh’s son, Noah Jupe, has appeared in several Hollywood blockbusters, sharing the screen with stars like Nicole Kidman and Emily Blunt.
Coronation Street fans were stunned to learn that Katy Cavanagh, the actress behind Julie Carp, is the mother of a rising Hollywood star.
Katy, who became well-known for playing Eileen Grimshaw’s (Sue Cleaver) unlucky-in-love sister Julie after joining the iconic soap in 2008, quickly became a fan favorite.
Julie bid farewell to Weatherfield in 2015, leaving viewers saddened. Since then, Katy has appeared in hit comedies like Not Going Out and Birds of a Feather, as well as showcasing her dramatic talents on stage in various theater productions.
However, her character made a surprise return in the February 19 episode, coinciding with Eileen’s dramatic exit after 25 years on the show. Todd (Gareth Pierce) spotted Julie at the Chariot Square Hotel, sparking a wave of fan speculation about her return, which the actress describes as seeking “closure” for Julie.
Adding to the excitement, fans were amazed to discover that Katy’s son is none other than Noah Jupe, the 20-year-old actor who has starred alongside Hollywood greats in blockbuster films such as A Quiet Place with Emily Blunt and The Undoing with Nicole Kidman.
Noah opened up about his upbringing and his family’s deep ties to the entertainment industry in an interview with Variety. He shared, “My mum acted for a time, and my dad has worked as a producer and assistant director—he’s spent his entire life on film sets. So, we’re very much a film-oriented family and quite knowledgeable about the industry.
“Having parents with that experience was incredibly helpful when I started working as a child actor. They were on set with me, fully understanding the environment and all the complexities that come with being part of a production.”
