The villainous Reece has returned…
Reece Bolton, a former character from Coronation Street, is returning to the show for a reunion with his daughter Lauren.
Actor Scott Anson revealed the return this week through a post on his social media, along with a photo of a new script.
Reece’s last appearance was in March 2024, but now he’s set to reconnect with Lauren once again.
Coronation Street villain Reece Bolton return confirmed
Fans will remember that Reece Bolton is Lauren’s father and was involved with a far-right gang that groomed Max. Reece, who had a close friendship with Griff, was sent to prison and last appeared in March of the previous year when Max visited him. During that visit, Reece tried to extract information about Lauren’s disappearance, which ultimately led to Griff and his gang targeting Roy Cropper.
It has now been confirmed that Lauren’s dad, Reece, will be returning to the soap.
Actor Scott Anson shared the news this week on X (formerly Twitter) by posting a picture of a Coronation Street script along with a welcome message.
He captioned the post, “Bad boy Reece is back.”
It remains unclear whether Reece will still be in prison or whether he’ll be free when he makes his return to the screen.
However, Scott did tease a reunion between Reece and Lauren by reposting a clip of Lauren’s trial, writing, “Come see ya dad!! X.”
The circumstances of Reece Bolton’s return to the Street
While neither Scott Anson nor Coronation Street has revealed the specifics of Reece’s return, it seems to be connected to his daughter Lauren in some way.
Lauren has recently been acquitted of the murder of Joel Deering. She’s now focused on her sick baby, Frankie, and has reconciled with Max, looking ahead to their future together. However, things are set to take a darker turn for her, as Max is rushed to the hospital after being trapped in the upcoming Platt house fire.
The big question is: what role will Reece play in all of this? Will tragedy strike, leaving Lauren with no one but her father to rely on? Or could Reece step in to help with Frankie’s health crisis? Only time will tell.
