Fans are not pleased…

The beloved BBC soap has become a Christmas tradition. Last year, viewers witnessed the explosive “The Six” storyline, which saw Keanu Taylor’s shocking death. This year’s festive episode is expected to be just as dramatic.
Additionally, fans will get a double dose of EastEnders, as the BBC has confirmed two episodes will air on Christmas Day.
EastEnders undergoes a Christmas Day schedule shake-up.
This week, the BBC revealed its Christmas TV lineup – and soap fans have something to look forward to.
Instead of the usual one EastEnders episode, there will be a second episode later on Christmas Day, December 25.
The first half-hour episode will air from 7:25 pm to 7:55 pm, followed by a long wait until the second episode, which will run from 10:00 pm to 11:30 pm.
This change marks the first time since 2008 that EastEnders will air two episodes on Christmas Day. An hour-long special has been shown every year since.
EastEnders icon Cindy returns this Christmas.
This Christmas in Walford, Cindy Beale’s world is set to implode.
Currently having an affair with her former stepson, Junior Knight, Cindy has been hiding the truth from everyone, including her fiancé Ian Beale. However, her lies are about to be exposed in a dramatic way.
An official synopsis for the holiday episodes teases: “Secrets and lies threaten to ruin the Beale family’s Christmas as the shocking truth about Cindy comes to light in a spectacular fashion on Christmas Day.”
EastEnders fans are criticizing the show’s new schedule.
Fans quickly expressed their disappointment with EastEnders’ Christmas Day schedule change, and many aren’t pleased.
One person on X commented, “It’s a bit disappointing since it’s been an hour-long episode for the past several years. Plus, it clashes with Coronation Street at 7pm.”
Another person shared, “It’s such a shame to air the second part so late. I always look forward to Christmas Day EE.” A third remarked, “That’s ridiculous.”
